Rome, NY [June 2025] – The Rome Rescue Mission is proud to announce that it has once again been selected as a beneficiary of the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program. This initiative is designed to make it easy for shoppers to give back to their local communities while reducing single-use plastic waste.
For the entire month of July 2025, every $2.50 Fight Hunger Bag purchased at the Hannaford store located at 808 West Chestnut Street in Rome will generate a $1 donation to support the Rome Rescue Mission’s programs and services.
“We are honored to be chosen for this opportunity,” said Lisa Patierno, Executive Director of the Rome Rescue Mission. “Each bag sold helps provide meals and support to individuals and families in need right here in our community. It’s a simple way for shoppers to make a big impact.”
The Fight Hunger Bag is a durable, reusable shopping bag featuring the message “This bag feeds neighbors in need.” It can be found on the reusable bag rack near the checkout at the participating Hannaford location.
