The New York State Police have arrested Mark Sturdevant, age 57, of Pine Bush, NY, following a detailed investigation into the possession of child sexual exploitation materials. The arrest was made on May 15, 2025, after law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at Sturdevant’s residence.
According to authorities, the investigation was led by the Troop F Computer Crimes Unit, with support from the Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Middletown, the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit, and the Troop F Violent Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team. The coordinated effort resulted in the discovery of images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children, some as young as six years old.
Sturdevant has been charged with Possessing an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child Less than 16 Years of Age, classified as a Class E Felony under New York State law. After his arrest, Sturdevant was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Crawford Town Court on June 2, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
The New York State Police have stated that the investigation remains ongoing and further charges may be possible as the case develops.
