Munson to observe Juneteenth with free celebration, special exhibition

WHAT: Munson will host Juneteenth@Munson from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 19 — a free, arts-filled celebration featuring live music, a DJ performance, a poetry reading, and the Juneteenth Community Exhibition, showcasing works by local African-American artists. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite pieces while enjoying the art, light refreshments, and hands-on activities. Docents and curators will also be available in the galleries to discuss the artwork and answer questions.

WHO: Schedule of Performers:

  • 5 p.m. – Poetry reading
  • 5:20 p.m. – Live piano performance, SUNY Polytechnic Institute President Winston Oluwole Soboyejo
  • 5:40 p.m. – Vocal performance, St. Matthew’s Temple
  • 6 p.m. – DJ experience, DJ D King
