The Maynard Fire Department, the Whitesboro American Legion, community members, local officials, and four Whitesboro High School students: Aiden Kane, Tyler Sodja, Morgan Randall, and Donato Jellenich.

A heartfelt awards ceremony recognizing the heroic actions of these teens, who saved a family from a dangerous garage fire on Cavanaugh Road in Marcy.

WHY:
On the evening of May 17, while returning from their junior prom, the teens saw flames engulfing a garage on Cavanaugh Road in the Maynard Fire District and immediately leapt into action; alerting the family, evacuating two young children and their father, and calling 911. Their quick thinking not only saved lives but also helped our firefighters do their jobs more effectively, preventing the fire from spreading further and possibly averting a devastating tragedy. Their actions exemplify the very best of our community.
