SARATOGA COUNTY, NYÂ – New York State Police arrested a 21-year-old Cohoes man on May 19, 2025, following an investigation into alleged inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.
Robert L. Halikias faces multiple serious charges including:
- Three counts of Rape in the third degree (Class E felony)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A misdemeanor)
- Criminal Obstruction of Breathing (Class A misdemeanor)
- Three counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the first degree (Class A misdemeanor)
- Two counts of Sexual Abuse in the third degree (Class B misdemeanor)
Investigation Details
According to State Police, the investigation began on April 19, 2025, when a trooper received a report of inappropriate sexual contact between an adult and a child. The investigation allegedly determined that Halikias provided alcohol and cannabis to a child under 17 years old and engaged in sexual intercourse with them on multiple occasions in Stillwater, NY during April 2025.
Additionally, authorities allege that Halikias obstructed the child’s breathing during a physical altercation in Stillwater on April 18, 2025.
Arrest and Court Proceedings
Halikias surrendered himself to State Police Saratoga, where he was arrested and processed. He was arraigned at Milton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility with bail set at $2,500 cash, $5,000 bond, or $25,000 partially secured bond.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
