WHAT
Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon will join with local partners to announce the culmination of her 6th Annual Winter Accessories & Food Drive, as all collected items are delivered to local food pantries for distribution ahead of the holidays.
This year’s drive has brought together an extraordinary network of community partners, including the Utica Comets, the Save of the Day Foundation, the Utica City Football Club, Hannaford Supermarkets, Kada’s Promise, and local first responders from the Utica and Rome Fire IAFF and Utica and Rome Police PBA unions. Through their generosity and the kindness of countless residents across the Mohawk Valley, hundreds of hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, socks, pasta and cereal have been collected to help families in need.
The Assemblywoman and her partners will highlight the success of this year’s effort, recognize the organizations and residents who helped make it possible, and deliver the items to all local food pantries serving the region.
Assemblywoman Buttenschon’s annual drive continues to grow each year thanks to the compassion and cooperation of local residents, businesses, and first responders, ensuring that no family in the Mohawk Valley goes cold or hungry during the winter season.
