Light of Hope to Illuminate Rome on August 21st: A Community Gathering for Awareness, Remembrance, and Recovery
Utica, NY – August 2025 — The Center for Family Life and Recovery, Inc. (CFLR) will host its heartfelt and healing Light of Hope ceremony on Thursday, August 21st, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at CFLR’s Rome Office (201 West Dominick Street, Rome, NY). This powerful evening is dedicated to raising awareness, honoring lives lost, and supporting those affected by substance use, addiction, suicide, and the stigma that surrounds them.
The event holds special significance as it also serves as a local tribute to International Overdose Awareness Day (August 31st)—the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those who have died, and acknowledge the grief of family and friends left behind.
Held just ahead of National Recovery and Suicide Awareness Month in September, Light of Hope unites the community to shine a light—literally and figuratively—on preventable tragedies and the ongoing need for healing and hope.
