The 134th Fighter Squadron, known as the Green Mountain Boys from the Vermont Air National Guard, is scheduled to fly two F-35 Lightning II and one F/A-18 aircraft over the Boilermaker Race at approximately 10:01:30 am. This flyover may be impacted by weather, mission, or other conditions.
“The Boilermaker is honored to have these unique aircraft flyover to help us celebrate the achievements of our over 15,000 participants on Sunday,” said Mark Donovan, Boilermaker President. “In addition to our gratitude to the military and its personnel involved, we are also grateful for the work done by Senator Griffo and his staff to help us secure this exciting aerial display for the benefit of Boilermaker Nation.”
My office is pleased to have once again assisted with securing a military flyover for this year’s Boilermaker Road Race,” said Sentor Griffo. “The flyover is always a special and memorable experience for those attending the race. I appreciate the efforts of all those involved with making this exciting event a reality and am grateful for all their hard work.
The Green Mountain Boys welcome the public to see the F-35s and many other military aircraft, vehicles, and equipment up close at their Open House on September 7th. Visit www.airguardopenhouse.com for complete information on the event.
