WHAT/WHY IT MATTERS:Â
Assemblywoman Buttenschon will host DEC Commissioner Amanda Lefton at Utica Mack Inc. in Marcy for a meaningful, solutions-focused discussion on New York’s climate goals and how they intersect with the real needs of local industries and communities. This is a follow up meeting from the Advanced Clean Truck Act RoundtableÂ
that the Assemblywoman hosted on June 26, 2025. At the roundtable highway superintendents, school superintendents, local businesses, and local residents were in attendance and voiced their concerns on statewide Advanced Clean Truck Act mandates. Although these mandates have been paused till 2026, it will not assist them as they order in advance. Today, Tom Heiland, President of Utica Mack Inc. will provide firsthand knowledge to the Assemblywoman and Commissioner regarding alternative approaches to achieving zero emissions without negatively affecting our small businesses, schools, and municipalities.Â
