About Us

Meet David and Dawn LaGuerre

We’re David and Dawn LaGuerre, and we’re proud to call the Mohawk Valley home. For years, we’ve been more than just residents of this community—we’ve been active participants, neighbors, and storytellers dedicated to giving voice to the people and issues that matter most in our region.

Our Roots in Community Journalism

Our journey in journalism has taken us through some of the most respected local publications in the area. As reporters for the Utica Phoenix, we’ve covered the stories that shape our neighborhoods and bring our community together. Our work has also been featured in the Rome Sentinel, The Observer-Dispatch, and the Daily Sentinel, where we’ve had the privilege of sharing the voices and experiences of our fellow community members.

More Than Just Reporters

Beyond our work in journalism, we believe in rolling up our sleeves and getting involved. We’ve served as active members of numerous local civic organizations because we know that real change happens when people come together. Whether it’s attending town halls, volunteering for community initiatives, or simply listening to our neighbors’ concerns, we’re committed to being present and engaged.

Why We Started Mohawk Valley Voice

We created Mohawk Valley Voice because we believe our community deserves a news source that truly represents its values and concerns. We’ve seen firsthand how local journalism can bring people together, shine a light on important issues, and hold those in power accountable. This platform is our way of continuing that mission—giving you the news and analysis you need, delivered with integrity and heart.

Our Promise to You

When you read Mohawk Valley Voice, you’re not just getting news—you’re getting perspective from people who understand this community because we live here, work here, and care deeply about its future. We’re your neighbors, and we’re in this together.

Thank you for trusting us to be your source for news and insight in the Mohawk Valley. We invite you to join the conversation, share your stories, and help us build a stronger, more informed community.
