Oneida County Youth Bureau Seeks 2026 Grant Applications | Apply for Youth Program Funding

Oneida County Youth Bureau Now Accepting 2026 Grant Applications for Youth Programs

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people in Oneida County? The Oneida County Youth Bureau is excited to announce that it is now accepting grant applications for 2026! This is a fantastic opportunity for local nonprofits, municipalities, and community organizations to secure funding for high-quality youth programs.

County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. shared, “Our Youth Bureau is committed to distributing funding from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services in ways that best address the needs of our community. This annual grant cycle gives agencies, cities, towns, and villages the chance to launch new initiatives or continue the great work of existing programs.”

Who Can Apply?

The Youth Bureau is seeking proposals from nonprofit organizations and municipalities that offer programs focused on delinquency prevention, recreation, and positive youth development.

Available Funding Categories

There are four main funding categories for 2026:

1. Youth Development Program (YDP):
For nonprofits and municipalities running youth development programs that provide direct services to young people. Qualified expenses are reimbursed by New York State, subject to available funds.

2. Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA):
For nonprofits offering crisis and transitional living services to runaway and homeless youth.

3. Youth Sports and Education Opportunity Funding (YSEF):
For nonprofits and municipalities supporting sports programs for underserved children and youth under 18. Programs must offer a variety of sports to a broad range of youth in under-resourced communities.

4. Youth Team Sports (YTS):
For nonprofits, community-based organizations, and municipal team sports programs serving underserved children and youth under 18. YTS focuses exclusively on team sports, defined as organized physical activities where groups compete against each other.

How to Apply

Proposals must be submitted via email to kpensero-shanley@oneidacountyny.gov by the close of business on September 16, 2026.

All funded programs must comply with guidelines set by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. For more information, including application forms and detailed guidelines, visit the Oneida County Youth Bureau website.

Don’t miss this chance to make a positive impact on the youth in our community!
